GRE = Graduate Record Examination. Это экзамен, который сдают для поступления
во что-то типа нашей аспирантуры. Существует в двух разновидностях - general
GRE и subject GRE. General GRE существует в бумажном (paper-based) и
компьютерном (computer-based) видах (как и TOEFL). General GRE содержит 3
секции:

Verbal
Quantitative
Analytical

Verbal section содержит следующие основные типы вопросов:

(a) Antonyms
(b) Analogies
(c) Reading comprehension
(d) Sentence completion

(a)

Directions: Each question below consistos of a word printed in capital letters
followed by five lettered words or phrases. Choose the lettered word or phrase
that is most nearly opposite in meaning to the word in capital letters. [...]

the meaning of the sentence as a whole.
